About Us

We are not consultants. Our associates are independent contractors with many years experience working for consulting companies, either as presenters or analysts. However, we believe there is a better, less expensive, and more consistent way to help small- to medium-size businesses improve their performance as well as the quality of life of each owner, other than the current business model now used by 96% of consulting companies. This "current" model was introduced by the George S. May Co. over 80 years ago. The George S. May model uses three phases for consulting:

1. Presentation/Selling-in an Analyst (free)
2. Survey/Analysis ($500-10,000 fee). The analyst takes two to three days.
3. Consulting ($250-350 per hour times two or three consultants plus their expenses.)

SBCA has agreements with a number of consulting companies who work within our standards and guidelines. Our companies use two phases:

1. Presentation/Business Assessment ($950). The Assessment takes four to five hours.
2. Consulting ($250 per hour times one or two consultants including their expenses).



Once the client has given the SBCA associate all the information he/she needs to complete the Business Assessment, and the Assessment Report has been delivered to the client, both orally and in writing, the client has three choices:

1. Do nothing
2. Implement the work himself
3. Work with us to choose the appropriate consuting company

Before we start a Business Assessmet, we give the client a Confidentiality Agreement. If and when the client decides to proceed with consulting, the client will sign an additional Confidentiality and Consulting Agreement with the company they have chosen to do the work. The client's confidentiality is protected at all times.

Although we turn over our clients to someone else to implement services, we continue to monitor the client both during consulting and after, to be sure the client is happy with the work.
